The Newborn Guide

Let's Talk Newborns!

Having a baby is the most precious time in your life & also a very chaotic time! There are so many things to know, tons of opinions, & LOTS of amazing and not so amazing baby products. Whether this is your first or fourth child I hope this newborn guide will be helpful. I am going to share what has helped me navigate through this amazing journey we call motherhood.

Hospital Bag!

The newborn journey starts well before you get to hold your sweet babe in your arms. Prepping for the hospital was something I constantly thought about throughout my third trimester. I wanted to be as prepared as possible. My daughter was born August 21st, 2020 and the Covid-19 Pandemic only allowed for one support person and no visitors so leaving the hospital wasn’t really an option. I did not want my husband leaving me alone, although at this time he was able to come and go. I had researched many hospital bag check lists and I never found a solid list of what I needed and why. I think it is important to know what things are necessary and what aren’t so you don’t over pack or under pack! Read more for a break down of the items I took, why I packed them, & more.

Newborn Baby Products!

There are so many baby products out there and essentially you have to find out what works for your baby but it helps to hear some tips along the way. Here I will share the products we use and love, give comparisons to different products, & share MUST HAVE newborn products in my opinion.

Postpartum Care

No one can prepare you for what your body will go through after baby! Especially because everyone is so different and every birthing experience is so different. For me I delivered vaginally with minimal tearing and found the products I used to be extremely helpful!

Our Birth Story!

To the love of my life, Thank you for making me a mommy. Spending these newborn days with you are just pure joy and full of amazement. I know every mother will understand but I try so hard to study every inch of your face every day. Trying to learn and get to know your little nose and those perfect lips. Trying to stay in each moment as hard as I possibly can. I want to remember how tiny you are. I need to remember how you sleep and the faces you make, how you breath and then puff your bottom lip out, how you tilt your head way back and stretch then snuggle even harder into me. I know you need me to survive but I have learned I need you just the same. So to my sweet daughter let’s stay in these moments. Every little moment together as long as we possibly can. I can’t wait to watch you grow but I love watching you now.❤️
